Barnes Residence
My client wanted something spectacular in their home that would transport them to a tropical rainforest fantasy, inspired by their travels around the world. Their only stipulation was that the mural should contain a golden Buddha like the ones they saw in Myanmar, and that the plants should appear to cascade down the walls in a chaotically lush manner.
I was thrilled to be able to research plants and animals from Asia, Africa and the Americas and to design a mural that creates an illusion of three huge windows overlooking an enchanting forested vista, with a niche housing the Buddha on the third floor. I spent 646 hours single-handedly painting this mural, covering an area of 23 square metres!
