About Me
I grew up in a big city but I was always fascinated with nature. If I wasn’t reading fact sheets about animals or watching a nature documentary I was probably crouched down in the garden trying to catch a moth. My other lifelong obsession has been making pictures.
After studying photography at university I spent ten years working as a fashion photographer, which was so exciting and gave me some incredible experiences, but when the pandemic forced me to stop working I fell in love with painting again.
I would describe myself now as a multi-disciplinary artist. For the most part I paint flat surfaces - murals, canvases, but I still take photographic portrait commissions, and I make ceramics for fun. I refuse to “grow out of” my obsession with little bugs and charming birds and big tropical leaves. My simple life goal is to look at animals and make art about the complicated and fragile web of life that surrounds and sustains us. The best kind of art connects us not just to other people but to all other entities. It can make us realise our humanity and our place within this big scary fabulous beautiful universe.
